Custom Reduced Shank Keyseat Cutters

Reduced shank keyseat cutters are designed for T-slot machining in restricted spaces and are made of solid carbide for machining conditions with high rigidity requirements. Their shank diameter is smaller than the cutting end diameter, making them suitable for deep cavities, narrow grooves, and precision assembly.

Custom Reduced Shank Keyseat Cutters Reference
In multi-mode operation, the cutting end of this reduced shank keyseat mills can be machined into fillets, spheres, chamfers, and other shapes.
Keyseat cutters slot parameter matching:
Slot width: The width of the tool needs to be equal to the width of the bottom of the T-slot (e.g., when machining 8 mm wide slots, use an 8 mm wide keyseat milling cutter).
Radius selection: Select the appropriate radius size according to the slot requirements.
Pick the coating according to the material to be processed:
- Steel / cast iron: TiAlN coating (wear-resistant, high-temperature resistant).
- Stainless steel: TiCN coating (anti-sticky chips).
- Aluminum: Uncoated or nano-coated (reduces coefficient of friction).
Roughing: Choose 2-3 flutes (fast chip removal). Finishing: Choose 3-4 flutes or multiple flutes (high surface finish).
