Custom Roughing End Mill Reference

Parameter Matching:

  • Softer materials such as aluminum and copper: Choose a large helix angle of 35° to 45° (for rapid chip evacuation).
  • Harder materials such as cast iron, stainless steel, and alloys: Choose a smaller helix angle of 25° to 30° (to reduce cutting forces).

Select the appropriate coating according to the material:

  • Steel/cast iron: TiAlN coating
  • Stainless steel: TiCN coating (anti-chip adhesion)
  • Aluminum: Uncoated / DLC coating / Nano coating

Recommended Cutting Parameters:

  • Spindle Speed (S):
    • Cast Iron: 300-800 rpm
    • Steel: 200-600 rpm
    • Stainless Steel: 100-400 rpm
  • Axial Depth of Cut (ap): For roughing, we recommend 1-4 mm to avoid overloading.
