Long neck ball end mills are designed for 3D surface machining and complex contour machining. Thread Milling Cutter Precautions:
- Pre-drilling: Pre-drilled holes should be larger than the diameter of the thread milling cutter.
- Feed (Fz): Usually 0.05~0.3 mm/rev, depending on material softness or hardness.
- Layered processing: A single cutting depth of ≤1.5 times the pitch is recommended to avoid overload.
Selection of Thread Milling Cutter:
- For mass production of the same specification: It is recommended to use a full thread milling cutter or a Tri form thread milling cutter.
- Small batch production with different specifications: Use a single form thread milling cutter.
- Select the coating according to the material to be processed:
- Steel / cast iron: TiAlN coating (wear-resistant, high-temperature resistant).
- Stainless steel: TiCN coating (anti-sticky chips).
- Aluminum: Uncoated or nano-coated (reduces the coefficient of friction).
